It's been said before that music is medicine. This statement could not
be more true for SANDRA BOOKER. After being diagnosed with kidney
cancer, BOOKER FOUNDED THE JAZZ MUSICIANS AGAINST CANCER (JMAC)
Foundation along with the Music is Medicine project (MIM) as a means
of emotional therapy to deal with the disease. The purpose of the
foundation is to help others find the necessary resources and aid to
live with and beyond cancer. Vocalist Sandra Booker is regarded as
one of the best voices on the underground jazz movement scene. The New
Orleans native and self-described ‘Queen of Creole music’ has a
style that feels familiar while sounding completely fresh. Her deep
southern roots and devotion to her Crescent City heritage are ever
present.
Come and enjoy the Queen of Creole music as she heals your soul with a
captivating performance.
