Saturday Fantasy Character Clay Sculpture (Drop-in)

Are you interested in comics, video games, Dungeons and Dragons, toy manufacture or other fantasy-based media? This is the class for you. You will bring your fantastical concept to life by creating your own original character turnaround and building a free-standing armature for your creature, character or animal. The only limit is your imagination!This series (5 classes) is for beginner to advanced artists. You will learn to use clay in a streamlined, additive process which is perfect for both beginners and experienced sculptors.Our instructor will help you create your sculpture from photographs or your own design. Your first class will focus on drawing and creating your character turnaround (front, side, 3/4 view) followed by the planning and execution of a sturdy armature (skeleton). In the subsequent classes we will guide you through building your character using either Chavant or Monster clay. Once finished, you will have the option to learn how to mold and resin-cast it.The price is only for a Single drop-in fantasy sculpture classes, tools, clay, board and armature components.NOTES:For projects larger than 15" there will be a materials surcharge.Please bring a sketchbook to your first class (no smaller than 5.5" x 9")."Please Note:Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that can get dusty. Bring lunch or snack if desired. We have a refrigerator, microwave, and water dispenser.
Bundle tickets are also available. NOTE: Because of the time and detail involved in designing and building a fantasy character, we STRONGLY encourage you to book a block of these classes. One class will simply get the process started. A block of 10 Wednesday class bundle or 5 Saturday class bundle will bring your project to fruition and save you money!
