Additional range fees apply. The COURSE FEE INCLUDES BASIC INSTRUCTOR
TRAINER PLUS THE NRA BASICS OF PISTOL SHOOTING (ILT) a prerequisite to
attend this COURSE.For the class portion please bring: 1" Ring Binder,
Notepad, Pen, Pencil and Highlighter for each course. No live ammo in
the classroom.
For the range portion of the class: Bring your own handgun with 2
magazines, Eye and Ear Protection. Ammo must be purchased at the
range.
Qualifications for the NRA Instructor Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun
Courses:
1. If you are going to become a New Certified NRA Instructor in
Pistol,Rifle and Shotgun you must take the Basic Instructor Trainer
Course or (BIT). The BIT once taken is valid for two years. If you
have already taken this course your must advise your Training
Counselor and submit your Instructor Certification as evidence of
haven taken this course and you will only be required to attend the
range portion on the first day and the discipline the second day. If
it has been more than 1 1/2 years from the last time you took the BIT
you will be required to attend the course once again.
2. Candidates must complete the Instructor Led Training (ILT) for The
Basics of Pistol Shooting. It is included with this course. Usually at
a much higher cost when done separately.
3. You need to qualify for each discipline.
4. Each course including the BIT will also have a written exam that
you must pass with a 90% or better to qualify as an Instructor. All
written exams are based on course content.
5. Knowing how to shoot is an important requirement for NRA
instructors, but you will also need to know how to teach others to
shoot. NRA Instructor Training Courses help you develop the additional
knowledge, skills and techniques needed to organize and teach courses
in the NRA Basic Firearm Training Program.

Please note that registration for our COURSES TYPICALLY CLOSE 3 DAYS
PRIOR TO COURSE DATE AND FOR ALL INSTRUCTOR COURSES WE REQUIRE A
MINIMUM OF (4) registered students for the COURSE TO BE HELD. At times
the registration close dates are extended so please attempt to enroll.

there is availability. If you need to reschedule a course you must
contact us 24 hours prior to start time of course to reschedule. The
first $50.00 are considered deposit fees which are non-refundable it
is for your course materials and to secure your seat in the class. We
can also transfer your registration to next available course date. If
we (AAPT) have to cancel this course we will gladly offer to refund
you the amount you paid for this course.<
Prerequisite: Must complete the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course
presented on Saturday, Instructor Range Qualification and NRA Basic
Instructor Trainer Course presented on Sunday.
Description: Course is presented in two parts: NRA Basics of Pistol
Shooting Course on Saturday with Range Qualification and Basic
Instructor Training, and discipline specific instructor training on
Sunday. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via
participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete
an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA
Trainer’s Guide, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate.
