Celebrate the closing of the Bay Area MFA Show 4, on view in the Doug Adams Gallery through July, with music, refreshments, and live performances from the artists!

Every summer, we welcome five newly graduated Master of Fine Arts students from the top programs in the Bay Area. This group show is the highlight of our exhibition programming, allowing recent graduates to exhibit their work alongside artists from different schools, exploring the connections between their art.

Showcasing innovative new works in a variety of media, from mirrors and textiles to charcoal and recycled materials, the fourth iteration of the exhibition will explore themes of comfort, belonging, reclaiming, and reconnecting.

We are excited to show the latest work of the following artists:

Nasib Elahimehr (California College of the Arts)

Jasmine Nyende (University of California, Berkeley)

Samantha Saldaña (San Jose State University)

Eleanor Scholz O'Leary (San Francisco State University)

Raquel Tripp (University of California, Davis)

As well as hearing from the graduating artists, get the chance to experience a one-of-a-kind work of traveling art, 'Symphony of a Missing Room' by Christer Lundahl & Martina Seitl, that unfolds through sound, touch, and guided imagination in the absence of sight.

This presentation marks a precursor to a forthcoming solo exhibition at Swedenborg House in London, where the project will expand into a new constellation of artworks and a collaborative book project with GTU Professor Devin Zuber engaging in Emanuel Swedenborg’s mystical philosophy as a living lens to explore the embodied dimensions of climate collapse, inner ecology, and spiritual agency.

Symphony of a Missing Room invites visitors into this unfolding inquiry through an intimate choreography of absences. Visitors are wearing sightless goggles, guided by an unseen hand through an imagined architecture triggered by three-dimensional sound – a missing room held together by memory, sound, and touch.
