Chora Nova invites you to a celebratory concert by soprano Gabrielle Goozée-Nichols singing oratorio and opera arias by Handel, Bach, Purcell, Haydn and Mendelssohn, accompanied by members of the Mozart to Mendelssohn Orchestra conducted by John Kendall Bailey.
The April 26 performance begins at 7 pm at Northbrae Community Church, 941 The Alameda, in Berkeley and is both a celebration and fundraiser for Chora Nova’s 20th anniversary season.
Singing masterpieces from Handel’s Alcina, Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas, Bach’s Magnificat and more, she will serenade the audience through the Baroque period and elucidate its influence on successive periods with selections from Haydn’s The Creation and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Gabrielle Goozée-Nichols is a Bay Area favorite, frequently performing as soloist with Chora Nova, the San Francisco City Chorus, the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra and Mozart to Mendelssohn Orchestra, among others.
Homemade sweets will be served at the conclusion of the concert.
A suggested donation of $25 will support Chora Nova’s 20th season concert series and celebration.
