Dear MELODEM Member, We are pleased to invite you to the 2019 Annual
MELODEM Progress Meeting, which we anticipate will take place at the
Oceano Hotel in Half Moon Bay, California, starting the evening
of Sunday, July 21. This year we are very excited to be
co-sponsoring our meeting with the Social Science Research Council
(SSRC)! The first half of MELODEM will be our usual focus on
methods. The second half of MELODEM will focus on the SSRC
collaboration, which addresses the relevance of the social exposome
for developing a precision medicine framework for diagnosing and
developing therapies for Alzheimer’s disease and related causes of
dementia. We think the social exposome discussion is highly relevant
to MELODEM because of the methodologic challenges in evaluating the
social exposome, but we recognize not all MELODEM attendees will be
interested in this section of the meeting. Therefore, we have
several options for tickets below. You can choose to attend the entire
meeting with the ticket for July 21-23, or choose individual nights
with the tickets for the specific dates July 21, July 22, and July 23.
Tentative schedule of events: Sunday July 21, Arrivals, first MELODEM
meetings and dinner Monday July 22, MELODEM Presentations and
introduction of Social Exposome topic Tuesday July 23, MELODEM-SSRC
Social Exposome discussion Wednesday July 24, Breakfast buffet, final
presentations on developing methods for social exposome and check
out We anticipate having funding to cover two nights of hotel. If
additional funding becomes available we will also cover the third
night for those who wish to stay. We sincerely hope that you can
join us this year, for the first half focused exclusively on methods
or the full meeting of methods and social exposome. This has been a
terrific year for the working groups and for the development of
MELODEM. As research on Alzheimer's disease grows rapidly, we
believe the mission of MELODEM is of ever greater importance and
thank you for your contributions to the initiative. Best, MELODEM
