In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month this May, the
Asian Alumni Chapter of the STANFORD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS (GSB)
is proud to offer an on-campus Special SCREENING OF A NEW DOCUMENTARY
FILM ABOUT THE LATE SAN FRANCISCO MAYOR ED LEE – the first
Asian-American MAYOR OF A MAJOR U.S. city.
-------------------------
Produced by the Chinese Historical Society of America, the film
presents the inspirational, humorous, and emotional story of this
remarkable man and community leader, who passed away suddenly in
office.
-------------------------
Watch the film and learn how Ed Lee – a son of immigrants, a pro
bono lawyer-activist for tenants and garment workers, a habitual
punster, and a reluctant politician – became a history-making civic
leader.
-------------------------
Hillary Clinton and Warriors guard Steph Curry appear in the film,
reflecting on what Mayor Lee meant to them and the larger community.
-------------------------
Twitter's Biz Stone is an Executive Producer of the film, with major
donors including Ron Conway and Marc Benioff.
-------------------------
THIS SPECIAL EVENT INCLUDES A PRE-SCREENING NETWORKING HOUR WITH
HOSTED DRINKS AND HOT APPETIZERS, AND A UNIQUE POST-SCREENING FIRESIDE
CHAT WITH THE FILM’S DIRECTOR RICK QUAN, AN EMMY AWARD WINNING TV
JOURNALIST, AND ALVIN LAU, ONE OF THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS AND A
STANFORD GSB ALUMNUS.
