PASO ROBLES is known for its magnificent rolling hills. It is now also
home to Bruce Munro s sensual outdoor light exhibit, simply called
"FIELD OF LIGHT". Over 58,800 solar powered bulbs of changing colors
cover the undulating landscape, inviting the visitor to experience the
intersection of art with nature. We will spend one evening at
Sensorio, home to Munro s light sculptures.During this 4 day, 3 night
photography adventure (Sun-Wed), we will explore and photograph
landscapes of vineyards, lavender and sunflower fields, family farms
with orchards, organic produce and farm animals. I have made special
arrangements for us to photograph horses in action at a working ranch!
This itinerary is designed to bring you to photogenic locations during
great light. However, my aim is to inspire you to (re)discover and tap
into the well of your creativity. In addition to covering the
technical concepts of photography, the core of my teaching is focused
on seeing and recognizing light, then weaving in compositional and
storytelling elements so you can craft images that convey a sense of
place, emotion and wonder.
Some things you can learn and practice:
* surveying the landscape to create the best composition,
* approaching animals for interesting portraits,
* isolating subjects with a macro lens,
* low-light photography with and without a tripod,
* special techniques to create unusual images with multi-exposure,
motion blurring and panning,
* using fill flash and off-camera flash for more pleasing portraits,
* crafting visual narratives with your imagery.
This event is open to photographers of all experience levels,
including phone camera photographers. This workshop is also open to
significant others who are not photographers, but are interested in
exploring and seeing this area. The farmhouse provides space for
relaxing indoors or out, as well as hiking opportunities.
Early bird cost is $550.00 per person based on double occupancy. Fee
increases to $650 on March 1st. Group is limited to 4-8 participants.
