FREE Start Smart Class - Redwood City CHP Office

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO REGISTERING. _At least one parent must attend with their teen._  IF YOU ARE ATTENDING THIS CLASS BECAUSE IT WAS MANDATED BY THE COURT, YOUR PARENT MUST BE WITH YOU EVEN IF YOU ARE ALREADY OVER 18 YEARS OLD.  IF NO PARENT IS WITH YOU, YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY.Despite safer vehicles, better roads, and countless driving programs, the numbers of young drivers who have lost their lives due to traffic collisions have remained fairly constant for more than a decade.  However, these deaths and injuries can be substantially reduced by eliminating high-risk behaviors. Start Smart is a FREE two hour highly impactful interactive traffic safety class designed for drivers or soon to be drivers 15 to 19 years of age and their parents.  AT LEAST ONE PARENT MUST ATTEND WITH THEIR STUDENT.  EACH PERSON (including parents) attending will need to register and therefore getting an "admission ticket"  You will register one at a time so you'll have two transactions.    In order to print a certificate for the student, we need to know which one is the parent and which the student. When registering the parent, in the LAST NAME field type "Parent" hyphenated with the last name. For Example: Student's name  is Tommy Smith and parent  is John Smith For the student's name enter "Tommy Smith" (That's the way it will be printed on the certificate) For the parent enter:  First name: John       Last Name : Smith-Parent Please email Officer Montiel at:  amontiel@chp.ca.gov if you have any questions.
