This 6-mile hike with about 900 feet elevation will increase your
heart rate and pushes oxygen into your brain faster. According to
studies any rigorous exercises 3X a week REDUCES THE RISK OF MEMORY
LOSS BY 50%. This time we will hike up another steep hill before
walking down to the horse staples. The side bonus, you meet new people
new friends.1) Meet AT THE SMALL PARKING LOT BETWEEN RESTROOMS 7 and 8
by the trailhead inside Peter F Schabarum Regional Park at 17250 East
Colima Road, Rowland Heights, Ca 91748
To get inside the SMALL PARKING LOT BEWTWEEN RESTROOMS 7 & 8,
A) Enter the park on Colima Road (There is only one entrance by
car/where the pay booth is), and keep driving/follow the road for
about 2 minute until
B) The road splits into two and Keep to the RIGHT and keep driving
into the SMALL PARKING LOT BY THE TRAILHEAD. Drive all the way to the
end of the road/parking lot. Look for RESTROOMS 7 and 8. We will be
meeting at the parking lot between BATHROOMS 7 and 8. (We are not
meeting at the horse- staples parking lot.)
2) Bring water and sun protection-wear HIKING SHOES, hat, sunblock,
emergency kit, and other HIKING GEARS.
3) PARKING INSIDE THE PARK IS FREE ON WEEKDAYS AND $7 on weekends and
holidays.
3) PARKING ON AZUSA (right next to the park) and at the 85 Degree
PARKING LOT IS FREE. If you park on Azusa, then follow the path by the
pay booth and keep walking/follow the road for about 5 minute, then
turn right at the intersection and walk about 1 minute toward the
restroom. We will be meeting by the restroom at the PARKING LOT.
4) You can also park on the street right behind the Horse Staples/back
entrance at 2219 Saleroso Dr.,Rowland Heights, Ca 91748. This street
parking is also free. It is only a few hundred feet from the address
to the back entrance of the park/horse staples. Then walk to Restroom
#7.
