This is not your grandmother's DRAWING CLASS. Get loose in this
unconventional DRAWING CLASS USING A VARIETY OF DRAWING TOOLS AND
MATERIALS ON PAPER.
You may not realize it, but you draw all the time. When you sign your
name, when you draw a map, cross something out, or doodle on scrap
paper. Drawing is a powerful and wonderful language, capable of
expressing things not easily conveyed in other mediums.
Drawing can also be very expressive: communicating the intangible and
invisible. It is one of the most accessible and portable activities
you can undertake. The Modernism movement expanded the definition of
what drawing can be and do; freeing it from being equated to only
realistic renderings.
In this course, we will produce a broad range of expressive and
gestural DRAWINGS THAT WILL BE PERSONAL AND MEANINGFUL. We will
explore and experiment with materials beyond the familiar pencil and
eraser duo. We will learn to loosen up, trust ourselves, and expand on
what we know we can do to create rich, satisfying ABSTRACT DRAWINGS.
You'll likely never look at DRAWING THE SAME WAY AGAIN…
