A film lecture on 1960s ITALIAN COMEDIES AND SPECIAL CARNEVALE SWEETS San Diego Italian Film Festival and Italian Cultural Center present a lecture on Pietro Germi, his comedies, and Italy in the 1960s. The lecture will be taught by Antonio Iannotta, PhD, Artistic Director of SDIFF and professor of Italian at USD. Given that Italy is celebrating Carnival at this time, we will offer special Carnevale Sweets (frappe + castagnole) by Marco Blasi Chef Catering. ANTONIO IANNOTTA holds a Dottorato di ricerca (PhD) in Communication & Media Studies from the University of Salerno (Italy). Professor Iannotta has published articles and book chapters on film, TV series, literature, comics, and theory of media, as well as the books _Lo sguardo sottratto_, _Samuel Beckett e i media_ (Napoli, 2006), _Il cinema audiotattile_, and _Suono e immagine nell'esperienza filmica_ (Milano, 2017). His current research examines the Italian modern cinema, from Neorealism to the beginning of the Dolby Era, from the perspective of cinema sound. He is Adjunct Associate Professor of Italian at University of San Diego and the Artistic Director of the San Diego Italian Film Festival.
