We are celebrating 2 years together as the Speculative Futures meetup
group! Come and join us at Parisoma [http://www.parisoma.com/] for a
happy birthday hour and a talk by our members Heather and
Amy.INNOVATING IN PRACTICE
THE CHALLENGE WE FIND OURSELVES IN THE ARCHITECTURE INDUSTRY IS THAT
TEAMS ARE FOCUSED ON RESOLVING PROBLEMS OF THE NEAR FUTURE FOR THE
CLIENTS OF TODAY.
• WHERE ARE WE ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND TEST THOSE SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
THAT WILL POSITION US TO SHAPE AND DESIGN ENVIRONMENTS FOR THE
FUTURE?
• HOW DO YOU CREATE A SPACE FOR DESIGNERS TO DESIGN FOR PROBLEMS OF
A FAR-REACHING POSSIBLE FUTURE FOR CLIENTS AND END-USERS THAT DON’T
EXIST TODAY?
• AND AS OPPOSED TO A SKUNK WORKS APPROACH, HOW DO YOU CREATE A
SPACE THAT HARNESSES THE THINKING OF A WHOLE COMMUNITY OF DESIGNERS
AND THINKERS?
THIS PRESENTATION DESCRIBES THE WHY AND THE HOW OF AN EXPLORATION IN
CREATING THAT SPACE THAT CONNECTED SMITH GROUP JJR DESIGNERS IN
OFFICES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. LEARN HOW TEAMS OF ARCHITECTS WERE
CREATED AND A CHALLENGE DEVELOPED USING A SPECULATIVE FUTURE MINDSET
-- TO EXPLORE THE IMPLICATIONS OF AI ON THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT.
