One Day ROUNDTABLEEthics is very important to a business for a number
of reasons. A business that behaves ethically attracts more customers,
stakeholders and quality employees. Unethical behavior, on the other
hand, can damage a company’s reputation, negatively impacting its
bottom line and market value.
Each year, San Francisco State University’s College of Business and
the Center for Ethics & Sustainable Business hosts a Business Ethics
Week. This year’s Business Ethics Week will take place November 6-9
on SFSU’s main campus as well as its downtown SF campus. The annual
event involves over 5,500 undergraduate and graduate business students
and faculty members as they hear from business and industry experts on
topics related to business ethics, corporate and social
responsibility, the environment and sustainable business.
The Ethics & Compliance Roundtable is a half-day event that brings
together students, faculty and the business community to discuss
current topics surrounding business ethics and compliance. Companies
that have participated in the past include PG&E, Kaiser Permanente,
Salesforce.com, Starbucks Coffee Co., Genentech, Salesforce.com
Foundation, FedEx, Bank of San Francisco, and the Gap Inc.
