Techtonica is a nonprofit that partners with tech companies to provide free tech training, living and childcare stipends, and job placement to local, low-income women and non-binary adults. This event is a very important part of the rigorous application process for our full-time Apprenticeship Program, which begins January 2019. During the event, your assignment will be to be very observant of applicants as they work through JavaScript lessons, talk about themselves, work with others, give presentations, etc. Coding, pairing, and interviewing/hiring SKILLS ARE USEFUL. We will provide a rubric for you to fill out for each participant and based off of the average ratings each participant receives, we'll be able to make decisions about who proceeds to the next level of the application process.  The application process for Techtonica's full-time program is very competitive. Participants arriving late will not be admitted to the workshop, so please be on time to set a good example. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please bring a laptop and charging cord if you have access to one (otherwise, please let us know). There will be photography and videography at this event. By registering, you give Techtonica permission to use images or videos that may include you. If you have not yet filled out Techtonica's volunteer form [http://bit.ly/volunteer-with-Techtonica], please do so before the event. Please visit our website [https://techtonica.org/] for more information about Techtonica's mission to bridge the tech gap, and to learn more about our Apprenticeship Program [https://techtonica.org/apprenticeship].
