Esther Hall, owner of the STABLE CAFE AT THE PLEASANTON FAIRGROUNDS IS
GIVING OUR SPECIAL NEEDS COMMUNITY MEMBERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN
RESTAURANT SKILLS, such as taking orders, delivering food, and bussing
tables. With the recent decision to no longer allow race horses to
board and train at the fairgrounds, business at the STABLE CAFE HAD
DROPPED CONSIDERABLY; and Esther had to make the decision to close on
Sundays.
That is until she came up with a fantastic idea: how about opening up
1 Sunday, each month, and let special needs individuals from Sunflower
Hill help Esther in serving food? What a GREAT idea! From making
sunflower aprons to finding suppliers to donate supplies, Esther has
generously given her time...and her love...toward a great cause:
helping special needs individuals learn some key life skills.
