CBCT®, with roots in buddhism, has interfaced eastern meditation with neuroscience and psychology. It first couples self-nurturance with focused attention meditations, and then adds progressive contemplative exercises that help one gain insight/awareness of how one’s attitudes and behaviors either support or hinder a compassionate response toward life’s ups and downs. Research shows multiple biomarker and social benefits including increased personal resilience, improved satisfaction, plus a greater capacity for tenderness toward self and others.
