Chuck Honek

Chuck is owner of Valhalla Photographic and has studied under Hanson Fong, Monte Zucker and others over the years. He was a Mechanical Design Engineer and was on the design team that developed the first digital camera in the United States (datacopy) along with other medical imaging companies, Diasonics, Gould imaging and graphics and Toshiba MRI.

Mr. Honek has won 3rd place 2 years in a row at the California best of show Competition, as well as many local best of shows in Northern California.

He is an appointed State of California Judge (Photography) and has judged many Northern California county fairs (Photography) including Marin County Fair, Napa County Fair, Napa Town and Country Fair, Sonoma-Marin County Fair (in Petaluma), The Contra Costa County Fair and the Citrus Fair (in Cloverdale). For the past 5 years he has been the official photographer for the Marin County Fair (marinfair.org). Along with all the county fairs, Chuck has judged the Marin, Santa Rosa and the Napa Photo Societies, multiple times.

Chuck has lead many photo field trips all over the world and presents many classes to both local photographers and clubs, both in wild life and portrait photography.

My judging always includes constructive critiques and encouragements. Beginners should learn the technology of photography first, then progress to the fine art of the subject.
