BRISK FESTIVAL LA CELEBRATES ITS 5TH EDITION WITH 49 PLAYS, 33 in
English and 16 in Spanish, Over 200 Artists, and a Fresh Take on
Contemporary TheaterFrom August 16 to September 7, 2025, Brisk
Festival LA returns to the Morgan-Wixson Theater with a bold new
edition showcasing 49 short plays—33 in English and 16 in
Spanish—written, directed, and performed by over 200 artists from
across the globe.
Following the successful launch of its first international edition in
Buenos Aires, the festival is back in Los Angeles to celebrate five
editions of storytelling that transcends language and geography.
Produced by Full Emotions and founded by actor and filmmaker Christian
Rodrigo, Brisk has become a vital platform for independent theater,
amplifying new voices and fostering cultural exchange through the
performing arts.
“Live theater is not just an art form—it’s a mirror of who we
are and a common language that brings us together,” says Rodrigo.
“In times of fragmentation, festivals like Brisk remind us that art
can build bridges and spark genuine human connection.”
The festival will present six curated programs, each featuring a
selection of 10-minute plays. The most outstanding works, selected by
both the audience and a professional jury, will compete in the final
round from September 5 to 7.
Brisk offers an immersive experience combining theater, cuisine, and
learning. Telefèric Barcelona will serve paella and tapas before each
performance. The public is invited to participate in free workshops,
and there will be artistic interventions and surprise events
throughout the festival.
This year’s edition is supported by the Instituto Cervantes of Los
Angeles, the Consulates of Mexico, Spain, and Peru, and the LeaLA
Literary Festival, reinforcing the festival’s mission of creative
exchange across borders and platforms for underrepresented voices in
the arts.
Supporting initiatives like Brisk affirms the power of the arts to
inspire dialogue, strengthen community, and celebrate the richness of
our diversity. In a city as diverse as Los Angeles, Brisk invites
audiences to reflect, listen, and connect through the universal
language of performance.
All shows will take place at the Morgan-Wixson Theater, located at
2627 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA. Tickets start at $19 and are
available at www.briskfestival.com/tickets.
