COMIC BOOK ARTISTS JOURNEY FROM THE UNDERGROUND COMIX SCENE TO THE

LGBTQIA+ lives visible. The challenges they faced, and the solutions
they found, are inspiring. Featuring Alison Bechdel, Jennifer Camper,
Howard Cruse, Rupert Kinnard, Mary Wings, and other QUEER COMICS

Ajuan Mance is an Oakland-based writer and artist and a professor of

Vivian Kleiman is a Peabody Award-winning filmmaker whose work is
known for its challenging subjects, edgy visual approaches, and notes
of humor. Vivian founded Compadre Media Group in 2016, which released
No Straight Lines: The Rise of Queer Comics at the Tribeca Film
Festival (2021) and then on the award-winning national primetime
