Spring has arrived, and Summer is just around the corner!
HOnoring the new emperor and to celebrate the christening of a new era
"Reiwa", we would like to present the 11TH SAKE TASTING EVENT in
June.
As always, collaborating with the top-rated JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN
ORANGE COUNTY, SUSHI NOGUCHI in YORBA LINDA.
I am traveling to Japan in May, and will bring in a new batch of 5
different brands of JAPANESE SAKE FOR THIS EVENT, and will pair with
an Omakase menu Chef Noguchi has prepared specially for this
night.
The Sake brands are all unavailable through distribution channels in
the US. They have been carefully selected from very small breweries
scattered all across Japan, where I have PERSONALLY VISITED EACH
BREWERY AND SPOKE WITH THE OWNER AND BREW-master.
Just like boutique wineries who craft their wine with local
ingredients, these regional JAPANESE SAKE MANUFACTURERS FOCUS ON ITS
LOCAL HERITAGE - the soil, water, rice, climate and the culture in
each region. It is all found in a small glass of Sake.
Many of these Sake breweries are more than 100 years old, preserving
its original quality and method only to protect the legacy culture
unique to its region.
Also, this is the very reason why they cannot mass produce, hence, it
is difficult to find them outside of their region, even in Japan.
Instead, you will find an extremely unique flavor in each one of them,
and when they are paired with the local food that each region
delivers, the marriage is even more outstanding!
I will explain in detail, the background of each Sake brand, where it
comes from, the region's climate, and the local food that is enjoyed
together.
This will be great for a date night to learn how to enjoy Sake
together, or a great learning experience on how Sake is produced, how
to pair it with any type of food you like. NOTE: THIS TICKET COVERS
