AND BIO SATURDAY 10:15am-12:00pm Liquid Slink! Slow fusion phrases,
technique, and choreography with Molly McClellan Last year, attendees
requested that I do a slow and sinuous workshop, so, I present to
you…“Liquid Slink”! Beginning with a sequence of drills to help
you build your slow technique, we will move into short phrases that
are part of an ooey-gooey fusion choreography. This workshop is best
for people with some previous belly dance experience and advanced
variations will be given. Water bottle and journal for notes if they
want them. Bio: Molly McClellan is an internationally acclaimed
performer and dance instructor. Her innovative and highly technical
approach to movement has been featured at national festivals and has
shared the stage with touring acts such as Beats Antique. She hates
writing bios and loves to dance. www.mollymcclellan.net 12:30pm-2:15pm
Hootchie-Kuchi - Burlesque Infused Belly Dance with Julia Diverdi
Whether it's Vamp, Pin-up, or Bombshell, the retro style of burlesque
adds sugar AND spice to any belly dance style. Using jazz movement,
showgirl struts, and sultry expression, we'll add some old-fashioned
bump n' grind to our hip ups and umis! In this workshop we will focus
on burlesque infused belly dance combinations that you can string
together to create a unique dance or pepper into your own style for
added spice. Workshop will also include a warm-up, across the floor
exercises, isolation and layer drills, and a cool-down. Open to upper
level beginners (basic belly dance vocab is a serious plus) to
professional dancers. Bring water and dress to move. Red lipstick
optional! No shoes for this workshop due to studio flooring. Bio:
Julia DiVerdi is based out of Fort Collins, Colorado, where she

Zill & Movement Illustration with Phoenix Zills are useful to express
emotion, enhance your movement and create a fluid transition or
surprising change. Building on basic knowledge of zills using
patterns, rhythms, flow, and combinations. This workshop will start
with FUN zill drills designed to turn off the brain, relax, listen and
respond. We will then combine these with movement and progress to more
of a conversation with each other and the music and will incorporate
some fun new ideas on creating an illustration with your movement and
zills. All styles are welcome and participants need to know basic
belly dance movements along with triplets and alternates using zills.
This workshop offers musical understanding for those newer to zills
along with creative challenges for intermediate and advanced
zillers. Please bring zills, notebook and water bottle. Bio:
Phoenix is an acclaimed belly dance artist with a stage presence that
is as unique as it is diverse. Along with directing Sharaqa Shimmers,
Phoenix performs and teaches locally and nationally.

of inclusion and exclusion with simple postures, gestures and more.
Through a series of combinations we will put this knowledge to use
adding variety, creating intrigue, peeking interest, or even enhancing
the audience's understanding of the artist's vision. Optional:

of being wrong.” How do you push past dance challenges? What steps
do you take to improve your skills? In what ways do you express
yourself in dance? In Belly Dance Growth Mindset, we’ll explore
mindfulness and emotion as it relates to dance. We’ll delve into
vulnerability, authenticity, compassion, and resilience as tools for
growth and expression. This will be a minimal movement, maximum
discussion workshop. Please bring a notebook or journal. Bio: Jessey
is a lifelong dancer and learner with experience in ballet, hip hop,
