PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In Denver, just a decade ago, the terms ADU (accessory dwelling unit),
micro-apartment and tiny home were not in the common urban lexicon.
Today, city dwellers cannot talk about the future of urban living
without these terms. But small footprint living is not a new
invention; rather, it is a revival of the way many Denverites lived in
the city’s earlier days when a compact, walkable urban form was a
reality.
This panel will explore the issues related to small footprint living,
the impacts on the existing urban fabric and integration with the
historic context, and will discuss the expansion of both ADUs and
micro-apartments in the Denver area. The panel will answer questions
from the audience regarding design, technology, policy and
development.
