In this workshop, we will challenge ourselves to embrace character
viewpoints that go beyond clichés and stereotypes. We will explore
and interrogate the social influences on the characters we develop and
take steps toward embracing purposeful and reflective play that
supports generative experiences to inform future characters.About
Ashley:
Ashley Scroggins has been teaching, coaching, and improvising in
Denver for over ten years. She has played with groups such as andCo
Improv, Full Spectrum, Secret Service, Swarm, Queerbots, and more.
Ashley specializes in improvisation and teaching. Specifically, she
works in critical improvisation that actively and unapologetically
pushes against social norms that dehumanize people. When not working
on her PhD in Education, Ashley is an instructor at the Voodoo Comedy
Playhouse, and she regularly performs in Lipsync for your Laugh.
