Have you ever once seen someone in a yoga class go into a headstand or
a handstand and wondered what it s like to find that control and
presence in such an unconventional position?Has that ever made you
question why ancient or 20th century yoga masters felt the inclination
to get upside down or hand balance in the first place?
Well, you can come explore those questions somatically in community
with me and other students through Habitual handstands!
This exciting and challenging practice will use a platform of play and
presence to deepen your mind-body awareness; build strength, mobility,
and alignment; revitalize the body; and give you the kind of
confidence only balance can!
Come ready to check in, warm up, play, breathe and connect to this
mindful community!
See you upside down!"

Meet your Habitual guide!
Hi! I m Stan,
Having discovered a great talent, I began practicing calisthenics
(foundational bodyweight strength training for gymnastics) 7 months
ago. Prior to that, I had been an intermediate yogi for about five
months, after growing up with soccer and weight training. Athletics
and movement have been a perennial of mental strength, joy, energy,
and wellness for me.
Since I started, I have quickly progressed from novice movements and
am now making substantial progress towards three highly-coveted
advanced moves this year: pike press handstand, front lever, and
planche.
It is not common to be considering those movements without at least
one or two years of experience. I have attended several balancing
classes myself and gained personal advice and instruction directly
from coaches. Having access to several coaches, I can be confident
that with their input, my exercises are appropriate and effective.
Currently I am also studying for certifications in fitness coaching,
nutrition, and habit transformation from the ISSA. I recently
completed Habitual Roots conscious leadership training and bring to
this new context hundreds of hours of training and facilitating
experience from political field work. I love to coach people and
intend to create an exciting, inviting, mindful, and evolutionary
learning environment.
See you upside down!
