The mission of FATHER WOODY’s is to provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, rehabilitation and hygienic services to the homeless and less fortunate. Every day they feed, clothe and inspire over 150 different men, women and families.WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? PROJECT HELPING VOLUNTEERS WILL ASSIST IN THE DAILY SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE HOMELESS AT FATHER WOODY’s HAVEN OF HOPE. Volunteer tasks change daily depending on what they need the most. We could be in the kitchen HELPING WITH MEAL PREP; in the dining room serving meals or cleaning; in the Donation Area/Clothing Room sorting, cleaning, organizing, and moving clothing to racks for guests; or in the Hygiene area assisting with laundry or assembling hygiene packs. AS SPACE IS LIMITED, MAKE SURE TO REGISTER BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THIS GREAT EVENT!  FAQS WHY VOLUNTEER? Through the act of volunteering, you are actively investing in your community while also improving your mental wellness! Volunteering is proven to have numerous health benefits including improved mood, feeling healthier, increased sense of purpose and reducing stress levels. Volunteering can also give us a deep sense of happiness, both immediately and long-term. * 94% of people who volunteer say that volunteering improves their mood. * 96% of people who volunteer say that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose. This is just some of the science that supports our mission and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kindfulness [https://projecthelping.org/kindfulness/]. #DoGoodFeelGood DOES THIS EVENT REQUIRE SPECIAL SKILLS? There are no specific skills needed for this event. But we do consider willingness to help others a very special skill and since you’re reading this, you already have that one! ARE THERE AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERING? For this event, all volunteers must be at least 18 years old. ALL THE DETAILS: WHERE TO MEET AND PARK? WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING? WHAT IS THE AGENDA FOR THE DAY?
