Eternal Color: Fine Art and Classical Music

An evening of fine art portraiture, poetry, and CLASSICAL MUSIC Artwork by Melissa Carmon MUSIC BY THE INSPIRE DUO (Christen Stephens and Craig Woodward) Bolt Gallery, February 1, 2019 6-9 PM, live MUSICAL PERFORMANCES FROM 6-8 PM ETERNAL COLOR: Stories of Saints from Antiquity Twelve paintings of little-known historical saints will be on display. From 6-8 PM, a duo of award-winning MUSICIANS, called the Inspire Duo, will perform a live MUSICAL INTERPRETATION OF EACH PIECE. The opening for ETERNAL COLOR WILL BE A UNIQUE ART AND MUSIC COMBINATION OFFERED FOR THE FIRST FRIDAY GALLERY WALK ON FEBRUARY 1ST. About the MUSIC: A CLASSICALLY-trained flutist and pianist will perform MUSICAL INTERPRETATIONS OF CARMON'S LARGE SCALE PAINTED PORTRAITS. The show combines oil painting, poetry, and MUSICAL INTERPRETATION TO CREATE A MULTI-sensory artistic experience. The ETERNAL COLOR PORTRAITS ALSO INSPIRED A SERIES OF ABSTRACT COLOR STUDIES BY THE SAME ARTIST, which will be on display. About Melissa Carmon: 
Carmon is a fine artist who lives and works in FORT COLLINS. Her work combines the genre of portraiture with bold, expressive COLORS. Her work is rooted in an understanding of fine art pigments and COLOR THEORY.  Carmon's show combine multidisciplinary elements that interweave oil painting with creative writing and philosophy.  Her paintings explore psychology, the physical properties of pigments, and COLOR THEORY. Christen Stephens and Craig Woodward were inspired by the ETERNAL COLOR SERIES TO FORM A DUO THAT PERFORMS LIVE MUSICAL INTERPRETATIONS OF ARTWORK. Stephens is a soloist on flute and also performs with the Boulder symphony. Woodward, a pianist, is a composer of over 70 MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS. Together they bring over forty years of experience performing a variety of MUSICAL STYLES TO CREATE ONE-of-a-kind performances.  Each performance is uniquely crafted in response to the environment and to audience responses.
