Topics covered during the training : ● CASPA HR Toolkit - a free resource to all BOCES districts that provides guidance, best practices, samples, and templates ● New hire paperwork - what do I need to collect? ● The basics of I-9’s - completing, errors, storing, etc. ● Personnel files - what should be kept in a personnel file? ● HR Record Management - how long am I required to keep paperwork? ● CDE licensure and enforcement - what’s the latest information I need to be aware of? ● Job descriptions - do we need them and why? ● Exempt vs. Nonexempt employee - what’s the difference? ● Leaves of Absence - what is required from the employee? ● Workers’ Compensation - what is required from the employee? ● ADA - when does an employee qualify for ADA accomodations? ● Separation from District - what do I need to do or collect when someone leaves the district? Training is facilitated by Shelly Landgraf, HR consultant with Colorado BOCES.
