the PublicLimited Seating Available Elena Sisto holds an impressive,
long list of solo exhibitions and numerous group shows in galleries
and museums throughout the US. She was represented in the 43rd
Biennial of Contemporary Painting at the Corcoran Gallery of American
Art in Washington, DC. A recipient of many honors, she was awarded two
National Endowment for the Arts grants, along with fellowships from
the Guggenheim Foundation, Yaddo, the Fine Arts Work Center in
Provincetown, the Millay Colony, NY Studio School, Skowhegan School,
and Yale Norfolk. In 2015, she was inducted into the National Academy
Museum. Sisto’s work, in numerous private and museum collections,
has been reviewed in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Arts
Magazine, Art in America, ARTnews, Art Forum, Art Critical, Boston
Globe, LA Times, among others. She has taught at Columbia University,
RISD, and the New York Studio School, and since 1997, has been
teaching at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She holds a BA in Art
from RISD and also studied at the NY Studio School. Upcoming this
fall, Sisto will have a solo exhibition entitled “As We Dream”,
September 12th through October 27th at Bookstein Projects in NYC.
