MID-RANGE CARBINE - East Lyme, CT 2026

Mid-RANGE CARBINE LETS YOU WORK YOUR FUNDAMENTALS OF SHOOTING SKILLS WITH A SEMI-automatic rifle from 100 yards to 450 yards. This is not a precision rifle class. It's for home defense style semi-auto rifles or lever action rifles chambered in rifle calibers, not pistol calibers. The day will start out with a review of the fundamentals of shooting a rifle for practical accuracy. We will then conducted zero confirmation and discuss windage and elevation estimation. You will practice dropping into hasty prone position, hasty kneeling position or standing. You will shoot unsupported and barricade supported from these positions. The goal is to understand the capabilities of you, your rifle and ammunition and accept your equipments accuracy limits. Students should have a solid understanding of the operating procedures for their CARBINE. Students must have some form of previous formalized CARBINE/rifle self defense training such as our Practical Rifle Skills course or Fighting CARBINE 1 COURSE OR THE EQUIVALENT. If you do not have the skills and knowledge needed you will be removed from the course without a refund.  We will be shooting paper and steel targets. Required Gear: - Semi-automatic Rifle with red dot optic. Magnified Optic is not required but may be helpful. - 4 magazines or more - magazines should hold at least 10 rds - Tactical 2 point sling - Ear Protection & Eye protection. - Long pants and long sleeve shirt. We will be in the woods for some of this. You may want to pore treat your cloths with insect repellent. - Insect repellent - Optic manual, spare battery, optic adjustment tool - Weapon lube Suggested -bipod -Elbow and Knee pads -Chair -Brimmed hat -Hiking style boots -Lunch -Water -Note pad & pencil or pen. AMMO Estimated round count: 350 rounds rifle more is suggested Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only.
