OVERVIEWThe University of Delaware [http://www.udel.edu] will host a four-day intensive Bookworms K-5 Reading and Writing [https://openupresources.org/bookworms-k-5-reading-writing-curriculum/] INSTITUTE. This professional learning event, led by the program author Dr. Sharon Walpole [http://www.education.udel.edu/faculty-bio/sharon-walpole/] and her team of coaches at the Professional Development Center for Educators, is open to teachers, administrators, and coaches with at least some level of experience using the Bookworms curriculum. Sharon Walpole, the Bookworms author, and the University of Delaware’s Bookworms coaches will lead panel sessions, grade-level breakout sessions, and networking and collaboration opportunities.  Participants will be able to choose sessions that best meet their needs as they immerse themselves in the theory and practical application of the Bookworms K-5 Reading and Writing curriculum. THIS SUMMER INSTITUTE WILL INCLUDE A FULL-DAY SESSION FOR ADMINISTRATORS AND COACHES ON MONDAY, JULY 20, FOLLOWED BY THREE DAYS OF LEARNING, NETWORKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHERS AND LEADERS WORKING TOGETHER.  DETAILS The institute will be held at the Clayton Hall Conference Center, located on the University of Delaware's campus in Newark, DE. On-site parking is complimentary. The University is conveniently located along the I-95 corridor, within an hour of the Philadelphia Airport, and just miles away from the Newark Amtrak Station.  Room blocks have been arranged at two local hotels: the Courtyard by Marriott Newark-University of Delaware [https://www.marriott.com/events/start.mi?id=1581624861726&key=GRP] and SpringHill Suites Newark [https://www.marriott.com/events/start.mi?id=1580849295262&key=GRP].
