« All Events RSVP FOR THIS PROGRAM - $20 June 10 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm Event Navigation « Gentle PM Yoga Knitting in the Nook » with Rebecca Wilkinson, MA, ATR-BC, LCPAT CREATIVE JOURNALING COMBINES ARTISTIC TECHNIQUES WITH WRITING AND JOURNALING EXERCISES. In this workshop, we will use the CREATIVE JOURNALING PROCESS TO IDENTIFY STRENGTHS AND RESOURCES THAT HAVE HELPED US MANAGE THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FACED AND ARE FACING IN OUR LIVES. We will explore strategies for improving the quality our lives so that we are not just SURVIVING BUT ALSO THRIVING. This can be a traditional bound book such as a blank lined journal, a blank drawing book, a hand made book, or an altered book. It can also be non-traditional such as a deck of cards or index cards. (If you do not have your own journal, some will be available for purchase). All other materials will be provided. Suggested Donation: $20 This series is held twice each month on Wednesdays from 10:30am – 12:30pm. Upcoming sessions: June 10 (CREATIVE JOURNALING: SURVIVING AND THRIVING) June 24 Our programs are open to the community, and tailored to meet the needs of people affected by cancer. Classes and workshops are free or low cost on a pay-as-you-can basis, ensuring that our programs are accessible to everyone. About Rebecca Wilkinson, MA, ATR-BC, LCPAT Rebecca Wilkinson, MA, ATR-BC, LCPAT is an artist and art therapist. She is co-founder of CREATIVE WELLBEING WORKSHOPS, LLC which provides individuals and organizations with training and resources for managing stress, preventing burnout and increasing wellbeing. She is co-author with Gioia Chilton, PhD, ATR-BC, of Positive art therapy theory and practice: Integrating positive psychology with art therapy and teaches on the topic at the George WASHINGTON University’s Graduate Art Therapy Program. She is author and illustrator of The Miraval Mandalas Coloring Book and serves as a Wellness Counselor and Art Therapy Specialist for half of the month at Miraval Resort in AZ.
