inspiration from the portraits and words of icons such as Michelle
Obama, LL Cool J, and Toni Morrison, who are featured in the National

explore themes such as social justice, hope, and the American Dream,
and write our own stories or poems in response. Open to high SCHOOL
STUDENTS (in 9th-12th grade). Led by local writer Willona Sloan,
this workshop is open to writers of all levels who are in the 9th-12th
grade. Materials are provided. Fee: $12 Please plan to arrive at the

10:00am. Because this workshop begins prior to public hours, those
more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted into the museum.
