AMERICANS. We can help!Join Greeks in Health Care as we volunteer to
prepare meals to feed those in need and support DC Central Kitchen's
mission to help solve this substantial issue.

Late arrivals (cut-off 8:45am cannot be permitted.)
Location Information: DC Central Kitchen is located at 425 Second
Street NW, Washington, DC 20001, on the ground floor of the Federal
City Shelter, a three-story gray building on the southeast corner of
2nd and E Streets NW. There is no on-site parking at the Kitchen, so
please use public transportation if possible.
Metro: The closest metro stop is Judiciary Square on the Red Line.
From the Judiciary Square 4th and D Street exit, head south on 4th
Street NW, left on D Street NW, left on 1st Street NW, and then left
into the service alley just south of Sandwiches by Phillip. The
entrance to the Kitchen looks like a service/delivery entrance and is
marked by a large sign.
Parking: There is no on-site parking at our Main Kitchen. Limited
parking is available in lots at Union Station, on E Street between 2nd
and 3rd Streets NW, and on the street. There is metered parking along
E Street NW, 1st Street NW and New Jersey Avenue NW, all within a
block of the Kitchen.
All volunteers must be 12 years or older. Storage space for volunteer
personal belongings is limited, so please plan to travel light.
DRESS CODE:
Safety is our number one concern. All volunteers must wear appropriate
and professional attire suitable for an industrial production kitchen.
Please wear closed toed shoes, sleeves and long pants. Shoes with
high-grip soles are strongly recommended.
Due to health regulations, volunteers who do not follow this dress
code will not be allowed to work in the kitchen. Please remember:
• No shorts or short skirts/dresses
• No tights, spandex, leggings, or pajama pants
• No tank tops or sleeveless shirts/dresses
• No shirts with exposed midriff (front or back)
• No open toed sandals or shoes
• No clothing with crude or offensive words or images
• No loose jewelry such as watches, bracelets, dangling earrings,
and rings
• No high heels
