The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced
a series of FORUMS FOR STATES TO EXPLORE THE STATE RELIEF AND
EMPOWERMENT WAIVERS (also referred to as section 1332 WAIVERS OR STATE
INNOVATION WAIVERS). CMS is offering these FORUMS TO PROVIDE STATES A
MORE DETAILED OVERVIEW OF OPPORTUNITIES TO EMPOWER STATES TO INNOVATE
IN WAYS THAT WILL STRENGTHEN THEIR HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETS, meet the
unique needs of their STATES, and provide more health coverage options
to consumers throughout the U.S. by reducing burden and increasing
STATE FLEXIBILITY.Building on the positive feedback from our regional
forums in Chicago, IL and Atlanta, GA, CMS is pleased to invite you to
a forum in Washington, DC on April 23rd. The forum in DC is intended
to be national in scope, with invited guests from various stakeholder
organizations, including states, organizations representing states,
actuaries, issuers, and other third-party groups. This invitation is
transferrable to another person in your organization, in the event
that you are unable to attend.
These forums will both bring stakeholders together to discuss options
available to states through State Relief and Empowerment Waivers. CMS
will provide information to stakeholders as they explore these
opportunities.
