The STOMP OUT SICKLE CELL MOVE-On EVENT IS A FUN FAMILY EXPERIENCE
HOSTED by Howard University Center for SICKLE Cell Disease, in
conjunction with Faces of Our Children, Inc., on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER
21, 2019. The EVENT WILL BE HELD ON THE HOWARD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Plaza with activities, games, and prizes.While the event is fun, the
purpose is serious – to increase awareness about sickle cell
disease and to raise money to continue our fight to stomp out sickle
cell for the more than 10,000 adults and children living with sickle
cell disease in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and the over
100,000 people affected by sickle cell trait in the United States.

SOS WALK/RUN WITH HOWARD UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT WAYNE A. I. FREDERICK
President Wayne A. I. Frederick will participate as part of the RUN TO
CURE SICKLE CELL CAMPAIGN. Dr. Frederick was diagnosed with sickle
cell disease at birth. Last year, Dr. Frederick made a pledge online
to run a 5K race every month in 2019 to bring awareness to the
disease. The campaign seeks to raise to awareness and funds
for Howard University’s Center for Sickle Cell Disease.
