The YOUTH IDEATION SUMMIT provides a platform for YOUTH IN THE DMV
METROPOLITAN AREA TO GAIN EXPOSURE TO VARIOUS FUNCTIONALITIES OF
TECHNOLOGY. We wish to use an industry that the YOUTH HAVE THE MOST
EXPERIENCE WITH, which is media. Leveraging various workshops, we will
introduce the product innovation and IDEATION PROCESS THAT TOP TECH
COMPANIES USE TO CREATE PRODUCTS SUCH AS UBER, Twitter, Facebook and
Google.The Mission of the YOUTH IDEATION SUMMIT is provide hope to
YOUTH IN UNDERREPRESENTED COMMUNITIES. Each and every student deserves
an opportunity to extend their knowledge of the economic and
technological environments that surround them. We hope that each
student that leaves the YOUTH IDEATION SUMMITgains more than an
understanding of how to build technological products, we hope each
student leaves with the confidence in their own abilities to create.
3:55PM - 6:30PM: WORKSHOPS (EACH STUDENT WILL PARTICIPATE IN A MAXIMUM
OF 2)
● WORKSHOP 1: DEMYSTIFYING CODE - WHERE TO START?(PROGRAMMING)
○ Description: This segment will provide resources to students on
programming.
The main objective of this workshop is spark an interest in code,
bring to light its
importance and lastly to eradicate misconceptions.
○ Number of supervisors: 2
● WORKSHOP 2: THE LENS OF CREATORS + ARTISTS- POWER OF CONTENT AND
PROGRAMMING
(BRANDING)
○ Description: Lens of creators will introduce students to the inner
workings of
branding and its essentialness to creating a business. Large
enterprises known
for their exceptional branding will be dissected and analyzed in a fun
and easily
understood way.
○ Number of supervisors: 4
● WORKSHOP 3: DESIGN WORKSHOP: MUSIC + DRIVING(INTERFACES)
○ Description: Students will come out of this workshop understanding
what a
great interface looks like and why they are essential to software.
○ Number of supervisors: 4
INTERMISSION & ROOM REARRANGEMENT
● Description: To maximize space the room must organized to a panel
style.
