GOLDISH OASIS IS PLEASED TO PRESENT A TEMPORARY ART INSTALLATION BY
ARTIST SAM HEYDT. On view at their Faena Bazaar location through
May 2019, the installation is comprised of lightboxex, dioramas,
photography, found object interventions and direct animation films.
[about the installation] Through movie imagery, war photography and
vintage advertisement, this installation takes the self-deception of
the post-war American middle class – i.e., the narrative created by
tabloids, television, and cinema – as a leading motive, and
sidesteps into iconographically related themes. By combining images of
destruction and disaster with images portraying the virtues and ideals
of the 1950’s, Heydt confronts the American Dream with the
ecological nightmare advanced industrialization is responsible for.
