Classes are progressive and will focus on a variety of skills based on the child’s individual ability at the time of lessons. For beginner swimmers, our preschool classes will focus on developing comfort with underwater exploration, basic self-rescue skills, safe water entry/exit, body position/control, changing directions and forward movement. Our more advanced swimmers will focus on the above skills performed at longer distances, in addition they will learn side breathing and integrated arm/leg action. As they progress through the program, front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, basic breaststroke and butterfly kick and treading water skills will be introduced and practiced.
