~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marion County has a legacy of military service and is considered home to over 35,000 veterans. These brave men and women fought and died to protect our freedoms that are often taken for granted, including the right to vote. Although we can never fully repay the debt we owe, we can express our gratitude and honor the sacrifice of all heroes that bravely served our country.
A wall in the Early Voting room at the Marion County Supervisor of Elections office has been dedicated as our Veterans Wall of Honor to remind citizens about the countless sacrifices Marion County veterans have made to protect our freedoms and allow voters the privilege to cast a ballot. The wall features a mural accompanied by digital photos and biographies of veterans and active duty service members connected to Marion County that have ever served our country, whether in peacetime or wartime, past or present.
Submit a veteran to be featured on our Wall of Honor and help us spread the word. The veteran biography form can be downloaded and submitted at VoteMarion.com/Vote-in-Honor-of-A-Vet.
