Safety Harbor Public Library will host bicycle enthusiast Chip “the
neighborhood bike guy” Haynes on Thursday, July 19 at 6:30 pm.
Haynes will discuss how cycling is for everyone, provide practical
tips on selecting a bike and accessories, basic bike mechanics and
more. He encourages a practical approach to cycling for pleasure or
health and as an affordable, local transportation option. You are
encouraged you to ride your bike to the program. Haynes has been
involved with cycling for decades. He rode across the UNITED STATES
and is a daily bike commuter. Heavily involved with community, he is
the author of the official guide for the Pinellas Trail, columns for
The Wire Donkey, and the book _The Practical Cyclist: Bicycling for
Real People_ (New Society Publishers, 2009).
