The Public Works Academy is an approved provider for the Florida Department of Transportation Advanced Maintenance of Traffic course.
Personnel with responsibility or authority to decide on specific temporary traffic control requirements implemented on state roadways, including (a) the engineer responsible for the work zone traffic control plan development, and (b) the work zone traffic control supervisor.
Personnel who successfully complete the Advanced MOT Training Course will receive a FDOT-recognized qualification which is valid for four (4) years, to perform work zone traffic control planning, design, implementation, inspection and/or supervising the selection, placement or maintenance of traffic control schemes or devices in work zones on the State Highway System in accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation Specifications 105-5.3 and 102-3.2.
One year experience in work zone traffic control or responsible for work zone traffic control plan development is required.
Please bring a DL to be allowed to take the exam. A DL and email address is required to take the test.
Certificates and Wallet Cards are valid for four (4) years from the ending date of the class session. No certificates or wallet cards will be available at the end of the class session. A certificate and wallet card will be sent to the participants who have paid their course fee and have successfully passed the exam. Any participant who does not achieve a passing score of 70% or higher will receive a letter indicating that. Please allow up to two (2) weeks for your results to arrive at the email address you provided at the time of registration.
