See the Covid-19 notice at the bottom of this description.Sewers,
costumers, quilters, cosplayers, clothing designers, and textile
artists & crafters of all kinds, come see what Tampa Hackerspace has
to offer and meet others who share your interest in making things out
of fabric and fiber! This meetup is free of charge and open to all.
(Yes, this includes you, knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers,
embroiderers, weavers, tie-dyers, and anyone else who works with
fabric, thread, yarn, etc.)
Think of this as an "Open Make" event -- bring your project, or just
come to learn & see what others are working on. We re working on
putting together classes and/or group projects for future meetups.
Tampa Hackerspace is in the midst of expanding, and we now have a
(temporary) dedicated sewing & textiles area! If there is enough
interest among our members, we may end up with a more permanent space
as our expansion progresses. If this is something you d like to see,
come on out and help make it happen!
We have a few working sewing machines set up, including a serger, and
a large cutting table. If you have a project to work on, you may want
to bring a machine if you re able as we may have more stitchers than
sewing machines.
