swimming skills. These skills lay the foundation for developing water
competency and the future skill development of swimming strokes. In
addition, your child starts to develop positive attitudes and safe
practices around the water. * Blowing bubbles for 3 seconds and
submerging mouth, nose, and eyes. * Front glide and recover to a
vertical position. * Back glide and recover to a vertical position. *
Back float for 3 seconds. * If a participant is receiving scholarship
dollars and fails to attend at least 50% of the classes without
notifying Aquatics Staff, the participant will not be eligible for
future scholarship funding. * In the event of inclement weather such
as thunder and lightning, swim lessons will be cancelled. If it is
raining hard and visibility in the bottom of the pool is obstructed,
swim lessons will be cancelled. The City does not offer makeup lessons
or refunds for programs cancelled due to weather events. Age Category
