Friday Night Dance@Tampa Bay Dance Club 8401 W. Hillsborough Ave Tampa
Great Dance and people attending it. Great variety of danceable music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and beyond by DJ Mike.
Date/Time
Every Friday
7:30 pm - 10:30 pm (although it thins out a lot after 930 or 10).
Great Dance Opportunity with Tampa Bay Dance Club: Cha Cha, Rumba, Waltz, Fox Trot, Bachata, Swing, Freestyle and more.
We found a fun dance venue, mostly couples aged 60+ plus but some singles. Very friendly and good dancers. It is a church social hall but you may bring your own adult beverages and snacks, they do sell soda and set ups. It is not a "club" setting more a place to practice dances with other mature folks.
Some songs they played:
Night Train by James Brown (swing or free style)
Build me up Buttercup by Foundations
The Way you the Things you Do (temps)
My Girl
A couple good waltz and rumba songs
Senorita (Bachata)
Oyo Como Va by Santana (Cha Cha)
Fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra
Run Around Sue by Dion
How Deep is your Love by Bee Gees
Tennessee Whiskey
Good Golly Miss Molly
Several line dances
Cupid Shuffle
Chilly Cha Cha
Electric Slide
2 Step
They do requests. It is BYOB but they sell sodas and set ups.
No masks required. All guys wore long pants lol, and women mostly dresses.
We enjoy going there as a couple to practice varied dances so thought we would share this so other couples or singles who want to get some social dancing practice can too, either with their partner (like we do) or someone new.
The dancers are pretty good. Many of them come with a partner (as a couple) but some don t. If some additional singles sign up here other singles may have some partners to choose from.
This is not a lesson format, it is a social dance, folks are friendly so feel free to mingle and dance-dance-dance.
