Join US at the High Museum of Art to hear Barbara Wallace, Nailah Reine Barnes, and Andrew Westover explore the vibrant world of FAITH RINGGOLD’s CHILDREN’s book illustrations, including the Caldecott Honor Book Tar Beach. The conversation will delve into the artistry, storytelling, and cultural significance of RINGGOLD’s work. Alongside the exhibition FAITH RINGGOLD: SEEING CHILDREN, this program will highlight RINGGOLD’s work and legacy at the intersection of African American experience, art, American history, and childhood imagination.About the Speakers Barbara Wallace is a scholar, writer, owner of Faith Ringgold Books LLC, and Ringgold’s daughter. Nailah Reine Barnes is a curator, writer, Fulbright Researcher, and Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow. Andrew Westover is the High’s Eleanor McDonald Storza Deputy Director of Learning and Civic Engagement and curator of the exhibition Faith Ringgold: Seeing Children.
