From Wed 15 September 2021 to Sat 16 October 2021
7:38 AM - 4:00 PM

Keum Boo is the ancient Korean technique of attaching 24 karat gold foil to another pure metal such as fine silver. The gold is attached through a process called diffusion bonding and is accomplished using a combination of heat and pressure. Low-tech and immediately gratifying, this class shows students how to add another dimension to their pieces. This intensive one-day-workshop includes instruction in silver depletion, gold foil manipulation, gold burnishing and forming the metal after gold is applied. A material fee of approximately $150 for 24K gold foil and sterling silver will be added to the class fee. This material fee is based on the market price of silver and gold and may change. Supplies must be ordered in advance, so registration for this workshop will close at the end of the day on October 8. Code: JWY 09 Instructor: Priscilla Fritsch Location: Jewelry Studio Fee: $265.00 (Includes a material fee of approximately $150 for 24K gold foil and silver) Day/Time: Saturday, 10:00-4:00pm Date: October 16 (1 day)
