-You have fallen more than once in the past two weeks.
-You are taking a diuretic, blood pressure medication, and/or
medications with side effects including but not limited to dizziness,
hypoglycemia, and/or sleepiness.
-You are home alone.
-You have a moderate to severe fear of falling.
Class Description: The purpose of this class is to work on your
BALANCE, guided by a qualified healthcare provider and movement
specialist. This class will teach you exercises that you can safely do
on your own in order to reduce your fall risk. There are options in
this class to further challenge the exercises, but they are not
required, especially if you are unsure.
Ages: 65 and OLDER
Preferred environment: You will need to be in a fairly quiet
environment with enough space to move around. Make sure you are near a
wall or other stable surface for BALANCE, if needed. Someone else
needs to be home with you.
Equipment:
Wall, couch, counter top, or other sturdy surface for you to catch
your BALANCE IF NEEDED.
Dining room or kitchen chair
Workout shoes (optional)
Foam pad, couch cushion, or other unstable surface
Light theraband, if available
Time: 30-45 minutes
About your instructor:
Tom Christ, Stephanie Lievense, and Dhara Shah are Doctors of Physical
Therapy with experience in treating all ages, including the geriatric
population and those with impaired gait and BALANCE.
Registration instructions:
For first time registrants in any Motion Stability virtual class, we
require that each participant complete two forms that provide consent
to utilize telehealth and a medical screening form.

Once you have completed the consent forms or you have already
completed them from a previous class, then proceed in completing the
rest of the registration for this class. Upon completion of the
registration and consent forms, our team will send you an invitation
to log on to the Zoom video class.
