Description BRUSHSTROKES OF JOY WORKSHOP! (FOR ATTENDEES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS) / Dr. LaShundra Dees, Ph.D Monday-Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM June 9 - June 14 Class Fee: $160 Participant Chronological Age: 18 and Up This weekly acrylic painting class is designed specifically for people with a development age of 6– 18 with special needs, including but not limited to developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and learning disabilities. This class will be a supportive and creative space for self-expression, social interaction, and personal growth. Led by an experienced instructor with a Ph.D. in Special Education, students will be guided through both collaborative and individual projects that reflect their unique interests and experiences. The class encourages communication through art, helping students build confidence, friendships, and a rewarding sense of accomplishment. No refunds or transfers are guaranteed after this time. To withdraw from a class, you are required to email ChastainArts@AtlantaGA.gov and include your name, the class name, and your reason for withdrawal. The option to accept an account credit for the class withdrawal is preferred. If a withdrawal/refund is requested after 1 week prior to or after the class has begun, a $30 administration fee will be deducted and only an account credit will be processed to be used for future class registrations, clay purchases, and future purchases in our gift shop & gallery. If a class has begun at minimum enrollment, we cannot process refunds or credits after the first class has already started. If you register for a class after the session has begun, only an account credit will be processed if a withdrawal is requested. Anyone registered for a figure class with a model will be required to pay the model fee on the first day of class with cash or check to the instructor. Even if you request a withdrawal after the first day of class, you will be required to pay the model fee calculated based on enrollment on the first-class meeting. The Chastain Arts Center is not responsible for classes missed due to student absences. Please discuss any unavoidable absences with your instructor.
