The main purpose of this event is to exhibit and honor the strength and resiliency of South African women who have paved the way for others to follow. Despite enduring past injustices of Apartheid, South African women continue to thrive, and their exceptional talent in various industry is counted among the best in the world. These women have emerged and led the way for other women to follow in their respective fields. SAWA continue to use the platform in Atlanta to put a spotlight on these talents for the world to see. This year’s gala will celebrate _South African Excellence and Legacy_ _in_ _Entertainment_ by honoring our legends who have played a vital role in promoting South Africa on the world stage. Over 20, 000 courageous and determined heroines marched peacefully against the unjust laws of the apartheid regime for Equality and freedom of movement for all South African Women. The women concluded their demonstration by singing the now infamous song. Wathint' Abafazi, Wathint' Imbokodo'_ _"You strike a Woman,You strike a Rock'’_ _Today we salute women of different background and races, who stand together for the development of women's agenda around the globe._ WOMEN BUSINESS FORUM, AUGUST 23RD, 2019- HOSTED BY SOUTH AFRICAN DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM, METRO ATLANTA CHAMBER, MARRIOTT AND SOUTH AFRICAN TOURISM  BREAKFAST 9-1pm Purpose – The Women Business Forum will highlight major South African businesses and professionals that can forge commercial connections between South Africa and the USA. Most importantly, the goal is to attract foreign investments for the purpose of building small -medium sized women owned businesses in South Africa. This all day, interactive Women Business Forum will consist of four sectors: 1. Panel (speakers from Government, Invest Atlanta, Private Sectors); 2. Question and Answer Segment between South African businesses and American investors 3. Presentation of Business Pitches by South African Women to encourage non- South Africans to form partnership with South Africans. 4. Networking and Vendor Sales.
